About the studio
A small studio,on purpose.
Desiglory Studio is a one-person practice. You talk to the person who designs your site, builds it, and is still there when you have a question three months later.
The short version
How I
got here
I build websites for people who have a real business to run and no appetite for a six-month design project.
Most of the sites I am asked to fix have the same problem, and it is rarely the colours. The pages are in the wrong order, they talk about the business instead of the customer, and the one thing the owner wants a visitor to do is buried three scrolls down. That is a structure problem, and structure is where I start.
So the work is deliberately unglamorous at the beginning: questions about who your customers are, what they are worried about, and what you want them to do. The visual design comes after that, and it comes out better for it.
I work alone by choice. It keeps the cost of a project proportional to its size, it means nothing gets lost being passed between people, and it means the standard of the work is simply mine to keep.

How I work
One pair of
hands
Design and development sit with the same person, which is why the finished site tends to match the thing you approved — and why there is never a question about who to ask.
What I hold to
Four principles
Clarity over cleverness
A visitor should never have to work out what you do or where to click. If a design choice makes something harder to understand, it loses — however good it looks in isolation.
Structure before style
The order of the page is the real design work. I settle what each page says and in what sequence before choosing a single colour or typeface.
Built to be handed over
A website you cannot update is a liability. Everything I build is made to be run by the person who owns it, with a walkthrough at the end.
Honest scope
A fixed price and a written scope, agreed before the work starts. If something falls outside it, you hear about it before it is done, not on the invoice.
